• Ideal for arthritis & inflammatory rheumatic conditions: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, peri‑articular rheumatic disorders

📋 Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Dissolve 2–3 tablets daily in half a glass of water before swallowing; maximum daily dose 150 mg. Milder cases may respond to just 2 tablets/day

• Children: Only for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis; dose based on weight (1–3 mg/kg daily), dispersed in water

• Elderly: Use the lowest effective dose for symptom relief 

🧪 Pharmacology

Diclofenac Sodium is a potent NSAID inhibiting cyclooxygenase‑1/‑2, thereby reducing prostaglandin-mediated inflammation, pain, and fever. Rapid absorption leads to peak plasma levels ~2 hours post-dosing; highly protein-bound and metabolized in the liver

⚠️ Side Effects & Precautions

• Common: Epigastric discomfort, nausea, diarrhea, headache, drowsiness, skin rash, edema

  Serious but rare: GI bleeding or ulceration, cardiovascular events, liver or kidney impairment—especially in long-term use or high-risk patients

• Contraindications: Peptic ulcer disease, aspirin/NSAID-sensitive asthma or urticaria, hypersensitivity to diclofenac. Not for use under occlusive dressings for gel forms 

🔁 Drug Interactions

• May increase lithium and digoxin plasma levels; elevated bleeding risk with anticoagulants.

• Use caution with cyclosporin, methotrexate, quinolone antibiotics, and other NSAIDs or steroids

  Avoid combining with antacids, iron, or mineral supplements around dosing due to potential absorption interference.

👶 Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use only if clearly needed. Avoid in first trimester; not recommended in later stages of pregnancy.

• Small amounts detected in breast milk—monitor infant if breastfeeding
